I believe this blog post is necessary. Today’s our third day and our Wopers and future Wopers should know why the people behind Hiburrito.com created this site.

Hiburrito was not conceived as an entertainment web site, it was not conceived as an online business and it definitely was not conceived as “another” poll website.

Did you know that polls and surveys are used in a regular basis, by the government, big corporations and specially we as regular people? President Obama wouldn’t be America’s President if the people of the United States hadn’t been consulted first. The car you drive wouldn’t exist if GM, Ford, Chrysler, Toyota, Honda or any other car manufacturer hadn’t asked you first if wanted that car. You wouldn’t be reading this post if you hadn’t asked yourself first if it would be worth it.

As you can see, our whole world is based on a poll-survey-question-answers-opinions-consulting system.

Today Google is trying to control the internet by organizing its information. As I always say “That who controls information, controls the internet”

On the other hand, Twitter, Facebook and MySpace are trying to control the internet by organizain its users.

The internet is no more than a virtual and simpler world than the one we live in. That’s why, as the human being always wants control and power, someone will always try to control the internet and its users.

In Hiburrito’s case, we focus on opinions, likings, free will and pure freedom of speech. That’s why we think Hiburrito is a great way for people to express themselves freely and anonymously.

But in Hiburrito we believe that the internet is an immense and infinite space with too much to discover. This space will always need to be organized and a great way to do it is by organizing the opinion of its users.
