About a month ago I read in problogger.net that interlinking posts inside the blog could really help with SEO.
Following Darren’s tip, I browsed around my older posts to see which words I could use as links between posts. Since I almost always write about the same topic on my blog, it was fairly simple to do. So, I got all the main keywords of my posts and I interlinked each one of them to the same keyword but only one posts.
For Example:
For my ebook, I’ve written 8 posts about Radical Marketing. I used to link “Radical Marketing” to the original book in Amazon. One day I searched “Radical Marketing” in Google and the first spot was for Amazon and Asswass.com was way down on the third page. So I changed the link of that keyword to my post “What is Radical Marketing?” and it got me to the first spot in the second page of Google. But the great accomplishment is that now I appear on the first spot for “What is Radical Marketing?”
Another mistake was that I used to right keywords like “here” or “click here” as links. I stopped doing this and now I right: “click here: the name of the link”. I didn’t know that I was giving authority to the word “here” instead of giving it to more important keywords.
With these simple changes, I got 30% more traffic to my blog from Google.
I’m doing the same thing with Hiburrito.com. SEO is much simpler for blogs than for websites. I use about 8 SEO plugins for this blog which help me with almost everything. With Hiburrito I have no clue of what I’m doing. I just follow some tips and try to do my best job.

Darren Rowse knows well his field. I bought his 31DBBB and started the challenge. I believe I’ll improve my blog with all the tips there are inside the e-book, just as you learnt the interlinking tip. Maybe you already bought Darren Rowse’s e-book?
Hi Ben, I didn’t buy the e-book because I read all his posts. And why do I need to buy it if I can search his posts for free
.
I thought there were more tips in the e-book than what he posted on his blog.. I’m wondering why he charged this e-book for $20, if we can find all the information in his blog. Well, I would have at least got the additional audio and tips added for this e-book version.
Yeah that’s why I don’t understand bloggers who charge their ebook with the same info that they offer on their blogs.
Dude, i think your blog is good, it is on its way to become my favorite blog, but i also like the one from Bad Blogger and Benjamin….
Thanks Arnoso, The Bad Blogger and Benjamin Cip’s blogs are also one of my favorite blogs
Good tips here. I’m trying to interlink my posts more and more. Thanks for the advice.
Very useful. I never take serious about that. Now I know the important of it. Thanks =)
Hey never thought of that… haha thanks for sharing, I will had to go try it out!
Hi Nicholas, yeah it’s amazing how my search results in Google multiplied. With every post I write I carefullt analyze each keyword to see if I can find an older post on my blog with the same keyword. Thanks for stopping by.
Hi Blinkky, well you should
. I guarantee that it will help you a lot.
Hey Bad Blogger, why don’t you come back and tell us if it worked for you how was the impact on your traffic from seach engines.
I’ve heard about this and did try this in my last post…. I’m going to use this strategy more often from now on…
Thanks for letting us know on the plugin.. SEOSmart Links… Will definitely make sure to check this out!
BTW, a very nice blog you have out here – keep up the good work!
Cheers
Sandeep
Thanks Sandeep, please some back and tell me if your traffic from Google improved.
I started to interlink recently, but I have not checked the results on Google yet. I guess I’m still having fun. Congrats on this find and implementing it and reaping the benefits.
I use interlinking for at least one post in a week (min. of one link per article, max. of 5). Additional tip: use this technique, use this tip sparingly. You don’t want to distract your readers too much from reading the original post, about 3 links per post will do
and it really does bring lots of seo benefits, so good work here Asswass!
About Darren’s e-book. It was clearly written on the sales page that the 31days e-book was a compiled version of all the posts written under the 31 days challenge. Yes, you can read the contents in the blog but the ebook is a better way since it’s more well-organized and compiled. 1 task a day if I’m correct
Hi George, I saw the impact of Google about two weeks after I started intelinking my posts. I guess that Google crawles every once in a while, but the results were amazing. I’m getting about 30% of my traffic from Google.
Hi Liane, I interlink as much keywords I have on my post. If I use one word 15 times then I’m going to link that keyword 15 times. But thanks for the tip
.
Regarding Darren’s blog, I think that the 31 posts was a great exercise and I think that every blogger should do it. But in my opinion I wouldn’t pay $20 por the ebook.
Still finding my day to interlink. But I am too lazy on that work.
Hey Tech, don’t worry about it. Find the time to do it and I guarantee you’ll see some improvements on your search results.
Thanks for the comment Tech.
I saw this on Problogger. Interlinking’s great to squeeze out those extra page views, as well as provide your reader with more great related content.
Besides extra page views and great content, think SEO. Interlinking will help a lot if you do it right.
