Happy Monday my friends. I was not going to write this blog post today since today’s a national holiday here in Venezuela and other countries of Latin America. This day in 1.492 Christopher Columbus discovered America after a long boat trip from Europe. Since is Monday, I’m enjoying a long weekend with my future wife. I’m getting married in June, so we went shopping for electrical appliances and kitchen ware for the house.

Well back to the Monday WOP. In today’s Monday WOP, I want to ask you guys if you have a ” Do Follow” Blog or a “No Follow” Blog. For those who don’t know these terms, the “No Follow” attribute was created by Google to prevent comment spam in Blogs. This attribute tells Google not to influence those links for Page Rank or Search Engine’s results, by preventing Search Engines to index those links. The “No Follow” attribute was specially designed for the link left on blog comments.
Soon after, social networks and other websites like YouTube and
Wikipedia started using this attribute to prevent spam. This was a great decision for these websites, but not such a great idea for new websites and blogs. New Blogs and Startups depend on SEO for traffic and with the “No Follow” attribute this new websites have a hard time of getting “Do Follow” links and a decent Page Rank.
Some Bloggers and webmasters think that having a “No Follow” blog can help them with Google and their Page Rank. For me this is just plain B.S. How about you? Do you have a “Do Follow” or a “No Follow” Blog?

Do Follow for me.
I Do Follow, after a set amount of comments, giving a loyal commentator something to look forward to
All I know link will be still a link. Related to Google Page Rank, it is all Google secret. No Follow Or Do follow just a way to tell search engine not to crawl the link. Recently I heard from SEOmoz, Google spider did not obey anymore with no or do follow tag. They made other new method. Shortly no body can tell Google what they have to do.
Hey Asswass loved your poll. I’m do Follow on the majority of my websites. I like to pass the juice not to mention I probably woudl had gotten an ass kicking from other bloggers if I wasn’t.
Everyone do-follow blog..how about me? mine is no-follow blog..:D I don’t care either do-follow or no-follow blog..If I feel I want to leave a comment I’ll do so..
Hi Karen, that’s why I comment on your blog
. Just kidding lol.
In teresting to know Bill, thanks for the heads up. Google changes things all the time, so it’s difficult to know what they’re doing next.
Hey Brian, thanks
. Does BlogEngage Follows?.
Hi Een, why do you have a “No Follow” blog? Any reasons? I don’t care either but it’s good to know
.
Yeah 100% I’m a do follow type of guy
haha nice to know Brian
.
Congrats on your wedding plans!
From what you describe on your post about do follow no follow it sounds like I want to be a “do follow” but how do I tell? What settings can I check?. I checked tools in one of my WP blogs that said everyone including search engines can see posts. By the way, you might be interested in this comment I sent to Doug this morning:
Hello Doug,
Great post, my research has shown me that new bloggers are on the upswing. I guess part of the reason is the economy, the get rich quick guys seem to be doing great! Anyway your series will be a great addition to my new “alliance” blog, which you don’t know about yet! Let me explain:
I have created a blog which is actually an alliance of bloggers such as yours, ExJohn’s, Tycoon, Asswass and diTesco, which, for the test period, is using the Comluv Wordpress free blog platform. I thought if I demoed the idea to you guys it would be a much better way to explain what its all about.
I have spent the last few days adding content to it, using posts from your blog and the other bloggers in the alliance but before you can yell; DUP Content, here is the twist:
This site will have it’s own domain and the Boomerblogger(me) acts as a blog press agent for all the blogs in the group, our very own blog alliance public relations dept. Boomerblogger intros each post with his take on the makingmoneyonline post featured,in a sense, a testimonial then provides links to both the post itself and your site within the text. Best way to see how it works is go and look what I put up for you. http://boomerblogger.comluv.com The idea is that a third party like boomerblogger talks about you, and not YOU. Dont you always feel better when someone refers you to someone?
The reason i am telling you here? Two reasons; one is that the blog could be viewed as a site that targets the noobs you spoke of who are new to blogging. Second, I have been reading your blog for over a month now and the people you associate with, trade comments, etc are the kinds of people we want in our alliance. Only di’Tesco knows about this so far as he has been helping me to critique it, but I will tell you he likes the idea, which is very encouraging.
I would like to hear from you and Mark on this idea and would love to hear from your readers too.
Hi Dick, first things first, did you read my last posts?
On the other hand, you have my full support my friend. How can I help? I think it is a great idea.
Please let me know
.
@Ben..no-follow blog is a standard for all blog..so I don’t want to change to do-follow blog but who knows I may change it later..
check out my link love in new entry also new WOP!
Hey Een, I think that blogger Blogs do come with the “No Follow” attribute, but Wordpress don’t. If you have a Wordpress Blog and you want to have the “No Follow” attribute, then you need to download a plugin.
Cool WOP my friend.
Thanks i found some great information on this site.
Thanks.
Great information.
Keep it coming
